I receive a licensing question from Yuvaraj Thiagarajan. Here is the question and my answer:

Licensing Question

Is Javeline Platform alone released in LGPL or all other components too? Are Teleport and Smartbindings also released in LGPL? Are other products like DeskRun, Inform, OnEdit, MediaFlow and Javeline Packager also available in LGPL? I am little confused.

Javeline PlatForm is released under LGPL. This includes all the components, TelePort, SmartBindings, Skinning Engine, and everything else that is in de SDK. There is also a separate release of TelePort, which is LGPL-ed as well. The Javeline Packager, and the soon to be released Javeline Documenter are released under an even less restrictive license.

DeskRun, InForm, OnEdit and MediaFlow are products that Javeline is selling. These aren’t LGPL-ed. They currently aren’t even open source. A long term strategy is in the works which will provide more clarity on the licensing structure for those products (yes, it will be more open).
